“I have dreamed of seeing this restaurant come to life for many years. The concept is close to my heart and in every way a representation of the culture I have been lucky enough to inherit from my home country, Mexico. My family, and specifically my mother, ignited in me a passion for cooking. For La Doña, my husband, Andrea Covino, also inspired me by having a restaurant, Andrea Trattoria Italiana, exemplifying his roots. We have worked endlessly with our sons Luca, Brian, and Carmine as inspiration. Therefore, I hope to share my roots, the true Mexican and specifically Oaxacan cuisine and gastronomy that I learned from my culture. My greatest wish is to bring the light and fresh foods one might find on a beautiful Mexican beach to the shores of Cape May, NJ.” - Lucy Covino

A gem off the main path. Outdoor clean dining area off crowded Washington Street- nice find! Food was delicious and servers were attentive and quick
Great place, Great food. They don't serve alcohol but there's a liquor store about 3 mins walk. By the beach in a quaint NJ beach town.
Terrific Mexican find in Cape May NJ. Excellent dining experience-food and service were top notch. Charming outside space and BYOB. Will definitely return.
Best Mexican food! Friendly service. Convenient location. LOVE it! I had the watermelon salad and enchiladas. My husband had the soup and shrimp. So so so good.
Fantastic Molé!
A lovely outdoor spot with fantastic food. BYOB, and there's usually a wait for tables (but ok places to hang out and wait). Some of the best molé we've ever had!
